Hi, I’m Wis, 60 years old, happily married, mother of a daughter, two sons, and two daughters-in-law. Since August 2018 I’m the grandmother of a cute little boy and in September 2020 he got a little brother. So now I have two cute grandsons.
At the moment I work as a history teacher. When I don’t teach I sew. On this blog, you will find my sewing-encounters.
I started to sew intensely at the age of 20: I followed a two-year sewing course and bought a sewing machine (an orange Toyota). I sewed everything for myself, my husband and little kids, including my wedding dress, the upholstery for our sofa, … Unfortunately, I had to stop because I started working full-time in the mid-nineties.
Thanks to following some sewing blogs, the itch to start sewing again grew. In September 2013 I went to buy a piece of fabric from the bargain bin at the local fabric store and sewed an a-line skirt. This opened up the floodgates.
In August 2015 our last son moved out and that gave me my own sewing room. Now, I try to sew every day, even if I only have 10 minutes of spare time.
Looking forward to following your journey.
